Girls Maker Initiative is a non-profit organization seeking to motivate young girls to become creators and innovators. There is a wide opportunity gap that exists for girls to experiment with hands on activities intended to foster design thinking and innovation. Girls Maker Initiative is dedicated to bridging this gap by creating opportunities for middle school girls to experience hands on building activities using the latest tools and technologies. We encourage learning through participation in a unique maker competition just for middle school girls and support their participation through free, guided workshops. We hope that this experience will encourage and motivate young girls to become problems solvers within their communities.
